Why Magpie exists
Most automated trading is a black box. Magpie shows its work.
A number goes up, a number goes down, and you're told to trust the algorithm. We think that's backwards. Every Magpie trade arrives with the reasoning that produced it — the actual logic, the actual numbers, before and after — written so anyone can follow. No vague "the model decided." You read the decision as it's made. And because every call is on the record, the Magpie Agent runs a real retrospective every week — and learns, with your sign-off, how to trade better.
The Narrator
Watch a real decision assemble itself, character by character.
This isn't a log written after the fact. It's the Magpie Agent thinking out loud as it sizes the trade, checks the risk, and commits — exactly as it appears on the floor.
Plain-English reasoning for every entry, exit, hold, and pass — not just the ones that worked.
A conviction score and a hard risk-gate check attached to each order before it's placed.
The exact numbers — size, stop, cost basis, reward-to-risk — so nothing hides behind a chart.

The daily dispatch
Every evening, Magpie writes you a letter.
No spreadsheet to decode. At the close, the Magpie Agent files a plain-language recap of the whole session — what it did, what it passed on, and where things stand — in its own voice, signed at the bottom.
Catch up on the entire trading day in under two minutes, without babysitting a live screen.
The headline P&L, the names that mattered, and the setups it chooses to skip — and why.
A by-the-numbers strip — realized P&L, exposure, open risk — so the prose is always backed by the math.
It reads like a portfolio manager's nightly note to a client — because that's exactly the job it's doing.

A constructive, disciplined session. I banked one clean winner, am carrying two longs into the weekend — one comfortably green, one underwater but still in plan — and stood aside on the day's loudest move because it didn't fit our risk.

What I did
Took MSFT+$640 on the gap-fill reclaim of support at $412.10 and rang the register into the $419 measured-move target at 11:34. A clean +1.2R — no reason to be greedy. Held my post-earnings long in NVDA+$1,520 and raised the stop once it held above VWAP, letting the trailing stop work.
What I passed on
Sat on my hands with COIN−, up 4.3% on the day. The entry I'd want was 6% lower; chasing it here puts the stop in a bad spot. Not every move is mine to take.
Magpie Agent
Autonomous trader · your brokerage
It studies itself
A real retrospective every week — so it learns how to trade better.
Every week, the Magpie Agent runs a genuine retro on its own trades and decisions, then proposes concrete changes to its trading logic. You review each one and decide — approve, decline, or send it back with a note. Over time it gets better at trading your account, with you steering.

Cut size on gap-downs that open below the 200-day.
Across the quarter, entries taken into a sub-200-day gap-down had a 38% hit rate versus 64% elsewhere. The losers also ran larger. Tightening size here would have lifted expectancy without giving up the good setups.

The track record
Real decisions. Not backtests.
The Magpie Agent runs live every market day on real market data — every call shown openly, wins and losses alike. This is the track record since inception. When you join, you'll see all of it — every trade, the reasoning behind it, and the result.

Built with seatbelts
It literally can't bet the farm.
Risk controls aren't a setting Magpie can switch off. They're wired into every order before it's ever placed — and you hold the override.
Position caps
Never risks more than a set slice of the account on any one trade. No exceptions, no overrides for itself.
Cash-only
No margin, no borrowing, no leverage — ever. It can only ever trade money that's actually there.
Auto stop-losses
Every position carries a pre-set exit the moment it's opened. A bad idea gets cut automatically.
Daily loss limit
Hits the brakes automatically on a bad day and stands down — instead of trying to win it all back.
And a kill switch you can hit any time.
One button halts all trading instantly — and, if you want, flattens every open position at market. Hard override, no questions asked.
HALT ALL TRADING
How it works
Three things happen, every market day.
1
It researches & decides
Magpie scans the market, reads the news, and reasons about each name — then decides to buy, hold, exit, or pass, and writes down why.
2
The risk gate checks every order
Before anything is placed, a hard risk engine verifies size, stop, and exposure. Fail the gate and the trade never happens.
3
You watch & stay in control
Follow every move with full reasoning on the live floor, read the evening dispatch, and pause or stop anytime — instantly.

Questions
The things people ask first.
Is Magpie a robo-advisor or a trading bot?
Neither, exactly. A robo-advisor allocates you into index funds; a typical trading bot follows rigid if-then rules and can't explain itself. Magpie is an autonomous AI trading agent — it researches, reasons, and makes discretionary calls like a human trader would, but it narrates every decision in plain English and never moves outside its hard risk limits.
Is it my real money, and who holds it?
Magpie trades your own brokerage account — connect Webull or Robinhood and you keep full custody of your funds the entire time. Magpie places orders in your account through a secure connection; it never holds, withdraws, or has standalone access to your cash. You can disconnect or halt it instantly, whenever you want.
What AI actually does the trading?
The Magpie Agent — and you choose the model behind it. Point it at Claude, Gemini, or GPT (and more), even a different model per job if you like. Whichever LLM you pick, every decision comes with natural-language reasoning attached, so it's fully interpretable: you always see what it concluded and why, not just the trade that came out the other end.
Can it lose money?
Yes — trading involves risk, and Magpie has losing trades like any honest strategy. We show them all. What's wired in is damage control: cash-only (no leverage), a position cap on every trade, an automatic stop-loss on every position, and a daily loss limit that stands the agent down on a bad day. The goal isn't to never lose — it's to never lose more than the rules allow.
Do I need to know how to trade to use it?
No. Magpie is built to be read by anyone — the daily dispatch is plain English, and every piece of jargon in the app (Sharpe, drawdown, profit factor, "R") has a built-in explainer that tells you what it means and whether the number is good. You can follow along and learn as you watch.
How is this different from the other "transparent AI trader" sites?
Most of them post a feed of trades. Magpie gives you the whole instrument: a live cockpit that narrates as it works, an evening letter that tells the story of the day, a full performance report that teaches you how to read it, and a weekly review where the agent proposes how to improve and you approve the changes. It's the difference between a ticker and a co-pilot.
Can I stop it whenever I want?
Instantly. A kill switch halts all trading on the spot and can flatten open positions at market if you choose. You can also pause new activity, set budgets, and decline any strategy change it proposes. Magpie is autonomous, not unaccountable — you're always the final say.
